How Bindi Irwin Channeled the 'Strength' of Wild Animals for Dancing with the Stars
Bindi Irwin's partner Derek Hough jokes that she is a "little angel-faced demon"
“This little angel-faced demon child did amazing,” Hough joked to PEOPLE after the show. “Bindi has become such a great dancer, but more importantly she embodies the character. I don’t teach that. I can teach her so many things about technique, but the performance comes from the soul.”
But just how Irwin taps into character is a bit surprising.
“Honestly, before we did this, I was thinking about animals that really have that strength about them that just captivates you,” the young conservationist said of becoming a vampire queen on for Monday’s Halloween episode. “That’s tigers and birds of prey. And when you see sharks move, there is just something about them. Sharks have the coolest eyes. There is just that essence about them.”
Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m (ET) on ABC.
