Nick Carter may have more than 20 years of experience dancing on stage with the Backstreet Boys, but that doesn’t mean he feels prepared to compete on season 21 of Dancing with the Stars.

“I’ve never considered myself the greatest dancer,” Carter says in an exclusive sneak peek at Monday’s premiere, “but I’ve been able to hide behind the guys for 23 years in the Backstreet Boys.”

Pro dancer Sharna Burgess may have her work cut out for her with Carter (see a second preview clip below), but she still seems particularly happy to have the pop star as her partner.

“As a 13-year-old, you were literally every poster on my bedroom [wall,] Burgess – who will dance with Carter to to “I Don’t Like It, I Love It” by Flo Rida feat. Robin Thicke – tells her new partner in the video.

The new season of Dancing with the Stars premieres Monday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
