From terrorist turned politico turned scapegoat to Wall Street playboy, so goes Damian Lewis‘ eclectic life on TV.

After the actor, 44, scored an Emmy for his role on Showtime’s hit Homeland, his character, Congressman Nicholas Brody, met a gruesome, untimely end on the show’s third season.

Now fans who miss Lewis have the chance to see him in a new light when Lewis stars as billionaire bad boy Bobby “Axe” Axelrod on Showtime’s upcoming series Billions.

Think of it as a small-screen Wolf of Wall Street, with Axe as a rags-to-extreme-riches hedge fund king who brazenly asks the question “When did it become a crime to succeed in this country?” as he’s pitted against U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti).

Billions, which also stars Malin Akerman, premieres Jan. 17 on Showtime.
