The Daily Show host Trevor Noah underwent an emergency appendectomy Wednesday morning.

Comedy Central announced his hospitalization Wednesday afternoon, adding that the satirical news show won’t be airing a new episode until Thursday.

“We’re happy to report the procedure went well and he is currently recuperating from the surgery,” the network tweeted. “As a result The Daily Show will air an encore tonight. We expect he and the show will be back with an original episode tomorrow.”

Just three days ago, Noah, 31, was photographed looking happy and healthy walking around New York City with his girlfriend, model Jordyn Taylor.

The South Africa native replaced longtime lead Jon Stewart at the Daily Show‘s desk in September.

The Daily Show

airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
