Courtney Love is celebrating her 50th birthday in style – by joining the hit show Sons of Anarchy for its final season.

The rocker confirmed the news in a blog for xoJane, listing her role on the FX series as one of 50 obsessions she can’t live without on her 50th birthday.

“Acting, acting, acting. Including my newest role on Sons of Anarchy!” she wrote for number 16.

Love will be playing Ms. Harrison, a preschool teacher who takes an interest in Abel, the son of Charlie Hunnam‘s character Jax, according to the network. She will also tangle with Abel’s mother, who is played by Drea de Matteo. Her multi-episode arc will begin with an appearance on the seventh and final season’s fourth episode.

This is not Love’s first dramatic role: She earned a Golden Globe nod in 1997 for her work in The People vs. Larry Flynt. She has also appeared in the Andy Kaufman biopic Man on the Moon and the crime thriller Trapped, among others.

She won’t be the only musician appearing on the show. Marilyn Manson also has a recurring role as a white supremacist whom Jax uses to expand his power base.

The final season of Sons of Anarchy premieres in September.
