The actress spoke candidly with Yahoo! Style about her Friends castmates, her daughter and her surprising celebrity look-alike
Courteney Cox has some clear advice to Friends fans hankering for a reunion: Give it up.
The actress is the latest of the sitcom’s stars to dispel rumors of a get-together, playfully telling Yahoo! Style in a video interview, “Dear lord, let it go, people, we’re not doing it. It’s just not gonna happen.”
Cox, 50, whose directorial debut Just Before I Go premiered last week, did manage to tease a fantasy spin-off for her quirky character on the series, Monica Gellar.
“Oh, Monica’s gonna do a movie. Yeah, just not the whole Friends,” she said, laughing. “No, it’s gonna be called Hangin’ with Monica. People will be running to the theaters.”
The actress said the cast hasn’t even had a true off-screen reunion yet, pointing a finger at her fictional sibling.
“We’ve gotten about 80 percent there, but there’s always one person who flakes at the end … You know, I’m not going to name names, but it may not be Schwimmer,” she cracked to Yahoo! Style.
The star also spoke about her daughter Coco’s role in her upcoming nuptials to Johnny McDaid, who proposed last June.
“She is going to sing something probably at the wedding,” said Cox of her 10-year-old daughter with ex David Arquette. “She also sang at David’s wedding a couple weeks ago. I think she’s probably going to be a wedding singer. She’s really booking ’em right now!”
Cox also had a good sense of humor when it came to addressing fan talk that she bears a resemblance to Oscar winner Jared Leto.
“Well first of all, just thank you because he’s gorgeous,” she said. “I think he’s got a great face, I guess his hair is good, too – it’s really long, isn’t it?”
