As Courteney Cox held court on the red carpet for her new film, Just Before I Go, her fiancé, Johnny McDaid, doted not just on her but also on her daughter Coco.

“He’s a very sensitive soul,” Cox told PEOPLE at the ArcLight Hollywood on Monday. She knew that McDaid, 38, was the one for her “when I knew that this was just who he is, that he was just a beautiful, sensitive, loving person with a wonderful family, with a beautiful set of friends. Then I was like, ‘This is for real!’ ”

McDaid popped the question last June after six months of dating, but the pair don’t appear to be rushing down the aisle.

“We’ll get there,” said McDaid of the wedding planning process. Pulling Cox, 50, in for a hug, he told PEOPLE, “I just want to be with this woman for the rest of my life. That is all that matters. The ceremonies are academic,” he said, positively beaming.

Coco Cox Arquette Has a Future as Both a Wedding Planner and Wedding Singer

Having just attended her father David Arquette‘s wedding to Christina McLarty, Coco seems to consider herself an expert: Cox told Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday that her daughter “is very excited about the wedding. I was going to hire a wedding planner, but apparently she wants to do it.”

She’s going to be a busy girl – Coco, 10, also has her sights set on being the maid of honor, the flower girl and “all the bridesmaids.”

Cox also revealed on Ellen that Coco sang at Arquette’s wedding. “She sang two songs. She’s just loving this wedding stuff,” adding that her daughter is “a really good singer. … She sang ‘I Will Always Love You’ at David’s wedding. That’s a hard song!”

Yeah, we’re going to need to see that video …
