Courteney Cox Recreates Classic 'Friends' 'Pivot' Scene While Moving Furniture Into Her House

Courteney Cox found herself channeling her on-screen brother while moving furniture over the weekend

Even the stars of Friends can’t help but quote the famous sitcom from time to time.

Courteney Cox, who played Monica Geller on the beloved NBC series, harkened back to one of the show’s most memorable moments Saturday while moving furniture into her house.

The actress, 54, called on three men to help her move a piece of furniture down the hall — but it wasn’t long before she had to encourage them to “Pivot!” just as her on-screen brother Ross did on Friends.

“Don’t scratch the walls!” Cox yells in true Monica fashion in a video shared to Instagram. “Pivot! Pivot!”

In the end, the piece of furniture safely makes it to its destination, and Cox’s exhausted movers pass out on the bed.

“Just another Friday night #pivot,” she captioned the post.

The funny moment is a reference to the season 5 episode “The One With the Cop,” which first aired in February 1999. In the episode, Ross (David Schwimmer) desperately tries to move his new couch up a flight of stairs with some help from Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Chandler (Matthew Perry).

He has the whole thing drawn out via sketch, but things don’t go according to plan as the trio struggles and Ross repeatedly yells “Pivot! Pivot! Pivot!” as they try to make their way up the steps. The couch eventually winds up being cut in half.

Cox has remained close with her Friends costars, and on Thursday shared a sweet throwback photo featuring Lisa Kudrow, 55, to Instagram.

“’IS THAT YOU?’ What Lisa K said when I showed her this pic,” Cox wrote.

Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay, responded, “Yeah I said that…but at least your hair doesn’t match a poodle.”

Cox was also on hand to celebrate Aniston’s 50th birthday last month.
