Real Housewives of New York star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps won’t be tardy for the party when it comes to hitting the recording studio.
Like her Atlanta counterpart Kim Zolciak, “I’m making a dance single,” the New York star told PEOPLE Wednesday at Provocateur in New York’s Hotel Gansevoort, where she attended a book party for makeup artist-to-the-stars Scott Barnes. “I have a producer called Chris Young, who is working on it with me. I’m very excited about it. It’s called ‘Money Can’t Buy You Class.'”
According to his website, Young has previously produced for Ashlee Simpson, Korn and George Clinton and performed with Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Guns and Roses.
“I have a very original sound,” the Countess continued. “It’s kind of rap and dance put together. I sing all the time for my friends and I sing on the show, but of course they’ve never shown it on the show because they don’t want to get the music rights. So I’ve written the song myself. It will come out in March. I hope that are really going to love it and dance to it.”
And the song’s theme? “It’s all about a lot of I know, who have a lot of money but the manners are not there. So I’ve decided to make a song about them but … it’s just a fun dance song … We’ve been dancing to it in my living room.”
And speaking of dancing, has the Countess caught the latest fist-pumping, reality TV sensation, Jersey Shore? “I have not seen Jersey Shore,” she says. “I’ve seen some outtakes of punching each other and it just doesn’t seem like my kind of show.”
But don’t the women have some knockdown, drag-out encounters on The Real Housewives of New York? “We never hit each other,” the author of Class with the Countess clarifies. “We do verbal sparing.”
And this season, “Bethenny Frankel even gets into it with me,” she says. “But we can’t talk about it.” –Jeffrey SlonimJoe Kohen/WireImage
