While it’s an honor just to be nominated, UnREAL‘s Constance Zimmer is extremely hopeful about getting the chance to do one thing at the upcoming Emmy Awards. Hint: It has nothing to do with winning.

Beyoncé Knowles, 35, is expected to be at The Microsoft Theater on Sunday for the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards and Zimmer would like the chance to just tell her, “Thank you.”

“I just saw her last night in concert, and I have never witnessed something like that in my life,” the actress told PEOPLE while attending AUDI’s party celebrating the 68th Emmys. “What she does, not only as, obviously, a singer, songwriter, dancer, mother…”

“I went with my eight-year-old,” she continued to say, “and I just thought, ‘I didn’t have this when I was eight.’ ”

It goes further than any fandom, any heroine worship, because the UnREAL star was able to watch her daughter bask in the wonder that is a strong, empowered, and uplifting talent.

“I didn’t have this kind of person. A woman, who is like, ‘You are the most important thing in the world!’ ” 45-year-old Zimmer gushed. “And [my daughter] is hearing this from this incredible being onstage, [who is] just owning everything that she touches. I just think that she is just such an incredible role model.”

A role model that Zimmer is not entirely certain how she would react to, were they to come face-to-face.

“I feel like I’ve been okay in those situations,” she said, “and sometimes not, and, then again, sometimes I get very shy and don’t know what to say.”

“I imagine I would probably turn into a puddle,” she added with a laugh. “I wouldn’t even be able to contain myself.”

The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, airs Sunday live on ABC. UnREAL airs Mondays (10 p.m. ET) on Lifetime.
