From sippy cups to Scandal?

Though not as shocking as a typical episode of the hit ABC TV show, Connie Britton has revealed some fascinating news: Katie Lowes, who plays Quinn Perkins on the Kerry Washington drama, was once the nanny to her little boy before landing her big breakout role.

“I was so upset when she got this little pilot,” the Nashville star joked with E! News. “I think it was pretty selfish on her part.”

Britton, 46, also teased that while working for her wasn’t as nightmarish as some of the torture scenes that Lowes, 32, endures on Scandal this season, she admits, “I run a tight ship.”

Britton said that life as a mom to her nearly 3-year-old son, Yoby, is “amazing,” and that he is “talking up a storm.”

“Most of the time I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing but we’ll figure it out,” she explained, before adding: “He likes to read his books to me. I try to remain humble about my incredible skills that have obviously created genius.”
