Connie Britton is jumping from the music scene to the trial of the century.

The Nashville star will join the FX miniseries American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson that’s based on Jeffrey Toobin’s best-selling book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

The miniseries’s executive producer Ryan Murphy revealed her addition to the cast via Twitter on Monday.

Britton, 48, joins David Schwimmer, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Sarah Paulson in the miniseries that’ll tell the story of the “trial of the century” from the perspective of the lawyers involved.

Britton’s involvement is not expected to affect the production of Nashville. Filming on the miniseries will begin in May.
