Despite reports that she’s been booted from Real Housewives of Atlanta, Claudia Jordan maintains her future with the Bravo show is still up in the air.

“No one called and said, ‘Hey, it’s a wrap.’ It didn’t happen,” Jordan told PEOPLE Saturday after her Essence Festival Empowerment panel in New Orleans.

“Now, have I gotten my pick-up letter yet? No, I have not,” the actress and TV and radio host says, noting that last year she didn’t get the green light until September.

“I’m okay with it being the end of the road if it is, but you never know! It’s not over til the fat lady sings, sand I haven’t heard her sing yet.”

Jordan, 42, is a pal of Housewife Kenya Moore‘s and joined the cast last year for the seventh season of the popular reality series. Throughout the season, Jordan went head-to-head with longtime series regular NeNe Leakes, who told PEOPLE last week she won’t be returning for season eight.

During an epic shade-fest shot in Puerto Rico, Leakes called Jordan a whore, while Jordan compared Leakes’s hair to ramen noodles.

“I didn’t expect to be put in that position; I didn’t think I’d go to dinner and be called a whore and be told I have no c—,” says Jordan of the show-down. “How would [she] know, first of all? It works just fine, I might add. No complaints … But I was just like, really? That’s what you’re gonna say to another woman on television, that did nothing to you?”

Despite the tiff, has no regrets about her time on the show or how she handled herself.

“It was sad, some parts of it, but you know. I think I handled her quite well.”
