Chrissy Teigen Sent Kim Kardashian West Flowers After Her BlackBerry Died
The 35-year-old reality star was paniced when her phone died on Wednesday, launching her into a series of distraught tweets and prompting her to change her Twitter avatar into a crying Kimoji.
“Soo my BlackBerry Bold died,” she lamented. “I knew this day would come, and to be honest I’m prepared. But the question is, do I try a different kind of BlackBerry? Or ditch it all together? Or a different phone like Samsung?”
She has an iPhone, too – explaining she loves having two different phone services “so I always have a working phone.”
“Another option is having two iPhones,” Kardashian West wrote. “I really want my BlackBerry bold though. Reality is starting to set in and I’m getting sad.”
Her love for the classic BlackBerry lies in its physical keyboard – which has since been removed from newer models. She told reporters at the 2014 Code/Mobile conference that the feature allowed her to type faster than her traditional iPhone, CNN says.
“It’s my heart and soul,” she described then. “I love it. I’ll never get rid of it. I have anxiety that I’ll run out and I won’t be able to have a BlackBerry and it will go extinct.”
While she had stockpiled old phones on eBay (celebrities love their antiques), it appears she has now run dry on her own supply.
“I can’t find anymore on eBay,” she wrote on Wednesday, before posting an In Memoriam-style photo of her previous phone.
Lucky for Kardashian West, she’s got friends to help her through her tough time.
While many may not be able to relate to her love for the discontinued technology, gal pal Chrissy Teigen reached out, sending her friend a heart-shaped bouquet of flowers and a funny condolance card.
“I’m so sorry for your loss,” Teigen, 30, wrote in the note. “I know how much you loved your BB.”
“You were both very lucky to have each other, and you will always have the memories,” her card continued.
Kardashian West was touched by the gesture: “How thoughtful is Chrissy?” she said on Snapchat. “She just gets me.”
“She really is the best,” Kardashian West continued on Twitter. “She understands my pain.”
