"I find some of the greatest satisfaction in my life from my children," Chrisley tells PEOPLE

Family is “everything” to Todd Chrisley, but that doesn’t mean he always loves being around his five children.

“I find some of the greatest satisfaction in my life from my children,” the Chrisley Knows Best star, 47, says in the latest issue of PEOPLE. “But I also find them to be some of the biggest pains in the ass that I’ve had in my life.”

Despite his mixed feelings about Lindsie, 26, Kyle, 24, Chase, 19, Savannah, 18, and Grayson, 9, the patriarch says his family is “what means most to me.”

Chrisley Knows Best airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network.

In fact, he actually loves vacationing with his wife Julie, 42, and their children. Earlier this year, the Chrisleys vacationed in London (an experience documented on the new episodes of their USA reality show) and spend a lot of time in the Caiman Islands.

“That is where my children have spent their vacations all their lives. We are there about three times a year,” says Chrisley. That is where we have some of our greatest memories.”

When back home in Georgia, Chrisley says he’d love to have a hobby, but “you only have a hobby when you have extra time and I have no extra time. Raising children is my hobby.”

But that just means combining his two favorite pastimes: family and shopping.

“Shopping is like air for my family,” explains Chrisley, who was standing in a Bloomingdale’s getting a dress for his daughter while doing the interview. “And I love getting my wife jewelry. I know what she likes: the bigger the better.”
