Years before Chris Pratt impressed the masses with his superhero physique, he shocked Amy Poehler by baring it all.

In a Late Night interview with Seth Meyers on Wednesday, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor admitted an infamous scene in the second season of Parks and Recreation was all too real for his costar.

His character, Andy, was supposed to show up to the house of ex-girlfriend Anne (Rashida Jones) completely naked, catching Leslie (Poehler) off-guard when she opened the door. But instead of wearing the industry-standard nude boxers, Pratt, 35, secretly stripped down.

“So I show up in these skin-colored briefs, and it’s at the end of the day, I’m not quite eliciting the response that I was hoping to from Amy,” he explained. “I was like three or four takes in. And to Mitch, our boom operator, I was like, ‘Mitch, I’m gonna go snake out on this one. I’m gonna go naked.’ And he’s like ‘Oh gosh, I don’t know.’ I was like, ‘Too late!’ ”

“This is just Method acting at its best,” Meyers quipped.

The hilarious take made the episode’s final cut – though NBC execs definitely didn’t enjoy the joke. Watch the video below to see Poehler’s priceless reaction.
