Though Kris Jenner had a lot to say about her ex’s gender transition during Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce which aired mid-May, she had remained quiet about Caitlyn‘s complete transition as seen on the cover of Vanity Fair earlier this month.

However, the Kardashian-Jenner family matriarch is now speaking out about her ex since she reintroduced herself to the world as Caitlyn, and – perhaps unsurprisingly – Kris is as positive as can be.

“I think it’s amazing,” Kris, 59, told Extra in Cannes on Wednesday of Caitlyn’s transition. “I think that someone following their dream is truly inspirational to a lot of people you have to do what makes you happy.”

Kris’ social media accounts are often a vehicle of promotion for the various business ventures of her children, though she has been relatively silent when it comes to Caitlyn’s own projects. The last time Kris Tweeted about Caitlyn directly was following her 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer – when Caitlyn was still chiefly referred to as Brucecalling her ex-husband a "hero."

Following KUWTK: About Bruce, Kris only addressed the special in an Instagram photo of the promo captioned “#familylove” as well as a re-Tweet of Mia Farrow, who wrote, “I think the Kardashian-Jenner family is handling this complex transition with great compassion, generosity, humor and love. Love them.”

Caitlyn’s journey will be explored in full detail in E!’s eight-part docu-series, I Am Cait, which premieres July 26 (8 p.m. ET) on E!
