Goodbye Bruce, Hello Caitlyn! Subscribe now for exclusive details on her new life and the emotional decision to reveal her true self, only in PEOPLE.

It’s been a big week for Caitlyn Jenner.

After introducing the world to her authentic self on Monday via a Vanity Fair cover shoot, the woman formerly known as Bruce stars in the first promo for her eight-part docuseries, I Am Cait, premiering July 26 on E!.

“So many people go through life and they’ve never had to deal with their own issues – no matter what those issues are,” says Jenner, 65, in the sneak peek. “Ours happen to be about gender identity, but how many people go through life and waste an entire life because they never deal with themselves? To be who they are?”

The promo appears to take place mainly in Jenner’s secluded Malibu, California, home as she gets ready to introduce herself to the world, learning what it means to be a woman.

“You start learning [about] all the pressure that women are under all the time about their appearance,” she says, while applying lip gloss in front of a vanity. She also jokes that, for the first time, a professional had done her makeup not long before filming.

“What a difference,” she says, laughing.

After Jenner’s months of hiding away in her Malibu compound following her coming out as transgender, I Am Cait follows her going “out into the world. It’s so bright out here, look at that,” she says. “Isn’t it great that, maybe someday, [I’ll] be normal and blend into society?”

Her passenger prompts that Jenner is normal, to which Jenner responds, smiling, “Put it this way: I’m the new normal.”

I Am Cait premieres July 26 (9 p.m. ET) on E!.
