Jeffrey Tambor – who plays a transgender woman on the hit Amazon series Transparent – says he was “humbled” to meet Caitlyn Jenner.

Tambor, 71, appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden Wednesday night and revealed that the cast of the show recently had dinner with Jenner, 65.

“She’s amazing and gorgeous, and very dedicated,” Tambor said. “You know, the bottom line about all of this is this is serious business. It’s about safety – lives are at stake. And she was very, very, very beautiful about it, and she’s very well-intentioned. I was very impressed.”

The former Arrested Development actor has previously spoken out about his admiration for Jenner and her transition, and he gave her further praise on Wednesday when talking to host Corden.

“I’m a cisgender male and I’ve been honored with the privilege of playing this role, so I’m humbled when I meet a Caitlyn, and she was fabulous,” Tambor added. “She’s really, really well-versed and she’s committed.”
