Caitlyn Jenner and transgender advocate Chandi Moore are sharing a message of tolerance.

The women are marking this year’s Transgender Day of Remembrance, which is observed Friday, by calling for an end to violence against members of the transgender community.

“No one should be killed simply because they are transgender,” Jenner says in a video for the day.

Moore calls on everyone to “take a moment to learn about the women who lost their lives to hate.”

The I Am Cait star urges people to “listen to trans people’s stories.”

“Hire a trans person in your company, support a trans student in your school, love your trans child. Let’s all take action to put an end to hate and violence,” she says.

Transgender Day of Remembrance was founded by transgender woman Gwendolyn Ann Smith in 1999. She wasinspired after the death of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was murdered in Massachusetts a year earlier.
