After working through her relationships with her famous family in the wake of her transition from male to female, Caitlyn Jenner had one last person to meet: ex-wife Kris Jenner.

The stars’ tense discussion about their past finally airs on I Am Cait on Sunday, and E! News offered a sneak peek Thursday.

“We did have a lot of great times. We’ve moved on, both of us, but I don’t want to throw all the great times away,” Caitlyn, 65, says in a voiceover. “And so for the kids, Kendall and Kylie, I don’t want tension. I don’t want to put them in a tough position. This is really, very, very difficult.”

The clip begins with Kris, 59, arriving at Caitlyn’s Malibu pad to see her longtime love as a woman in person for the first time.

“Oh my goodness!” she exclaims, smiling and offering Caitlyn a tin of cookies. “Look at you! Nice shoes!”

The couple of 23 years hugs before moving to the couch. Though the video ends there, past teasers show their conversation is tense.

“You’re sensitive and amazing to all these new people in your life, you’re just not so sensitive and amazing to the family that you left behind,” Kris, crying, says to Caitlyn in a promo released in August.

Kris and Caitlyn, then known as Bruce, divorced in December 2014 after separating a year earlier.

I Am Cait airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on E!
