If you’re crying because Cougar Town is entering its sixth and final season, you’re not alone – the cast also wept.

But who shed the most tears?

Ian Gomez,” Busy Philipps told E! News without missing a beat.

“I’ve been really prepared for it,” said Philipps, 35, who plays Laurie. “Our last day was Dec. 12, and as soon as we came back from the Thanksgiving holiday, I was like, tears in my eyes, every day, going up to a different crew member: ‘This has been such an amazing experience. I’m really gonna remember you. Thank you so much.’ ”

Other people – like Gomez, 50, who plays lovable doofus Andy – “didn’t think about it until the last shot of the last day,” Philipps said. “It hit a lot of people very hard on that last day. I had mourned it for about three weeks. I cried every day.”

Philipps ticked off another achievement during Cougar Town‘s final lap: She directed an episode this season. Her directorial style? Very talkative and “decisive.”

“My husband [Marc Silverstein] said I was perfectly suited for it,” she quipped, “because I like making decisions and I like telling people what to do.”

With costar Courteney Cox, 50, engaged to Snow Patrol band member Johnny McDaid, 38, Philipps has a pretty tough decision on her hands – what could Courteney Cox, possibly want or need as a wedding gift?

“It’s not that Courteney has everything, which she does. She also has impeccable taste,” Philipps said. “Like, her taste is intimidating.”

So, what to get the woman who has everything? “Maybe I’ll just get a really nice bottle of tequila.”

After more than five years of red wine, it’s a fitting change of pace for Philipps and her costars. Now’s your time to shine, Grande Luis, Jose or Carlos.

Cougar Town‘s final season premieres Tuesday on TBS at 10:30 p.m. ET.
