Update: In June 2015, Caitlyn Jenner came out as a transgender woman. This content was written in April 2015 before Jenner publicly announced her full transition.

With less than two weeks until Bruce Jenner‘s much talked-about interview airs on ABC, the network has released a second clip leading up to the two-hour special.

“My whole life has been getting me ready for this,” the former Olympian, 65, tells Sawyer during the interview, which covers Jenner’s life-changing decision to transition into a woman.

“Bruce’s primary goal is to bring awareness to this issue in order to help others in the transgender community,” a source told PEOPLE.

Jenner “wants this to be taken seriously so that his situation can have the most positive impact on society’s perception of the transgender community,” said the source.

As the famed decathlete prepares to tell his story to the world, Jenner’s children continue to support him.

“Everything is going great with the family,” Brody Jenner, 31, said on April 9.

“Everybody’s very happy. Everybody’s living life. And it’s a great time for all of us,” he added. “Everything’s really great.”

Bruce Jenner – The Interview airs Friday, April 24, at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
