Kim Kardashian on the 'About Bruce' Special: We Want to Help Other Families Going Through the Same Thing

Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce captures the reactions to Jenner's transition from the Kardashian side of the family

Given that every other moment of the Kardashians’ lives has been captured by reality TV cameras for the past eight years, it’s no surprise that Keeping Up with the Kardashians will also document how Bruce Jenner broke the news of his transition to the Kardashian side of the family.

However, there’s a special reason these moments, in particular, will be shown on E!’s upcoming special, About Bruce. “It was important for him to capture these moments so that people can understand,” Kim Kardashian West told E! News at a signing for her book of selfies, Selfish.

“First of all, our special is more about our emotions, and you see Bruce telling some of us for the first time, and every family member has a different reaction,” added the reality star, 34. “I think people will learn a lot and understand it’s okay to have every emotion.”

At the end of the day, the Kardashian-Jenner clan “support each other through everything, but there is a learning curve. There is an adjustment period.”

Added Kardashian West: “We just filmed it to help other families going through what we’re going through.”

In a sneak peek at Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce, Kendall Jenner breaks down into tears when she hears the news. “He’s the most amazing person I know,” she says. “I couldn’t ask for a better dad,”

Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce airs May 17 at 9 p.m. ET on E!
