Over 60 stars recorded the Burt Bacharach-Hal David anthem on June 15 just days following the Orlando massacre

Over 40 Broadway stars joined together for the first live performance of the Broadway for Orlando cover of “What the World Needs Now Is Love.”

For Tuesday’s episode of NBC’s Maya & Marty, a star-studded ensemble gathered at Studio 6A in 30 Rockefeller Plaza to perform the Burt Bacharach-Hal David anthem they had recorded at Avatar Studios just three days after the June 12 massacre in Orlando.

The theater community banded together to raise their voices in support for the loved ones of the 49 innocent victims of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub. Over 50 people were also injured.

Among those in attendance for the Maya & Marty appearance were Chita Rivera, Sean Hayes, Cynthia Erivo, Kelli O’Hara, Jessie Mueller, Rosie Perez, Joel Grey, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Fran Drescher and Megan Hilty.

Co-hosts Maya Rudolph and Martin Short also joined the group that included: Roger Bart, Charles Busch, Ann Hampton Callaway, Paul Castree, Michael Cerveris, Kevin Chamberlin, Lilla Crawford, Victor Garber, Frankie Grande, Judy Kuhn, Jose Llana, Anika Larsen, Beth Malone, Andrea Martin, Janet Metz, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Rory O’Malle, Orfeh, Christine Pedi, Billy Porter, Alice Ripley, Keala Settle, Kate Shindle, Jennifer Simard, James Wesley, Juli Wesley, Lillias White, B.D. Wong and Tony Yazbeck.

On Monday, Broadway for Orlando released the music video for the benefit single. One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the LGBT Center of Central Florida.
