Oops! She’s doing it again …

She would, of course, be Britney Spears, who’s set to guest-star on Jane the Virgin this fall. This certainly isn’t Spears’ first time in front of the camera (more on that later), though there’s a good chance Jane‘s wacky telenovela sensibility – not to mention a potential scene partner in Golden Globe-winning star Gina Rodriguez – will suit the “(You Drive Me) Crazy” singer’s acting style.

Of course, Spears isn’t the only musician who’s struck a chord with a TV gig. From singular cameos (Madonna on Will & Grace) to full-fledged leading roles (LL Cool J on NCIS: LA), many have transitioned from stage to small screen.

Below, we single out some of the best off-the-charts guest appearances.

Taylor Swift on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Before Taylor appeared as Elaine on New Girl, she played 16-year-old Haley on the spin-off-spawning CBS procedural.

Adam Levine on American Horror Story
The Maroon 5 frontman definitely hasn’t been shy about his desire to become an actor. In his AHS gig, Levine almost literally left it all on the floor after an asylum carousal session with costar Jenna Dewan Tatum went horribly, horribly wrong.

Courtney Love on Empire
Admittedly, it wasn’t a huge leap for the Hole rocker and widow of Kurt Cobain to play troubled singer Elle Dallas, but that doesn’t take anything away from the fact that she nailed it. (Love is an Academy Award nominee, after all.) Will Mariah Carey, who’s expected on season 2, make a similarly Glitter-ing guest star?

Justin Bieber on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Bieber was surprisingly convincing in his two-episode arc as Jason McCann.

Katy Perry on How I Met Your Mother
Since nobody could seem to remember the name of Zoey’s (Jennifer Morrison) gullible cousin, the HIMYM gang just called her Honey since everything that came out of her moth just wants to make them say, “Oh, Honey!”

Dolly Parton on Hannah Montana
The country legend was a sweet choice for Miley Stewart’s Mamaw on Hannah Montana – especially during a note-perfect performance of Cyrus’ “True Friend.”

And of course … Britney Spears on Will & Grace
Even without Jane the Virgin, Britney has a ton of acting credits. (Let us not speak of Crossroads …) In addition to guest-starring as a receptionist on How I Met Your Mother, she also appeared as Jack’s hilariously Conservative (and surprisingly conniving) assistant Amber-Louise on Will & Grace.

Jane the Virgin returns to The CW on Oct. 12.
