Brielle Biermann Says She Was 'Really Bummed' About Michael Kopech Split But 'Got Over It'

When Don’t Be Tardy returns later this month on Bravo, fans will get to watch Brielle Biermann navigate the dating world.

“I’m single this season for the first time in a few years,” Brielle, 21, told HollywoodLife.com. “I was really bummed out about it at first but I got over it easily. I’m trying to find out who I want to be.”

Brielle split from her boyfriend of almost two years, Michael Kopech, in March 2018. And while she admitted that filming in the wake of the breakup wasn’t easy, she had plenty to distract her — including her big move out of the family home and into her own apartment.

“You’ll see me make a move out of the house and kind of how that plays out,” she said. “And you’ll see which parent — which may kind of surprise you guys — is most upset about it. They’re denying it, but you can feel their energy and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.”

Brielle also revealed that she’ll be dating on the new season.

“I’m going on lunch dates or dinner dates, nothing crazy,” she said. “[With] some guy friends who I’ve known for a long time. And you’ll see this one date in particular that I’m cringing [about]. I’m like, ‘I do not want this to air!’ But whatever.”

Brielle and Michael Kopech, a Chicago White Sox pitcher, began dating in May 2016 after an acquaintance who also plays baseball introduced them. Kopech then reached out to Biermann on Twitter, and they started seeing each other.

Though Brielle’s mom Kim Zolciak-Biermann originally denied the split on Twitter, she confirmed the news days later while appearing on Watch Happens Live with Andy Cohen, attributing the breakup to her daughter’s age.

“Brielle just turned 21 — that’s exactly what happened, I think,” she said. “She’s been out. He’s 21 as well, but he’s kind of doing his whole training, and that’s nine months out of the year.”

“I think it was like, ‘Hey girl, all of a sudden you’re 21, and you’re actually living,’ ” continued Zolciak-Biermann, 40. “Because Brielle’s actually pretty boring. Does that make sense? And he’s a really great guy. And I tell Brielle — she’s moving out in a month, which is horrible — and I just want her to live. She’s pretty boring, though!”
