But in FYI network’s new series Bride & Prejudice (produced by Married at First Sight‘s Kinetic Content), three couples fight to stay positive as they struggle with loved ones who oppose their upcoming ceremonies. In a sneak peek at Tuesday’s premiere, Chris and Lou – a gay couple from Boston who met while working together as flight attendants – get emotional during their engagement party when Chris’s family doesn’t show up to celebrate. “I wish I had my family here, my sister … but you guys are my extended family, and I just want to thank each and every one of you,” says Chris, who explains his father opposes the marriage. “If my father was here to witness the love and support we have, I think he’d be more comfortable and understanding,” he adds. “I wish my dad was sitting right here, right next to me.” Bride & Prejudice airs Tuesdays (9 p.m. ET) on FYI.
