Gwen Stefani returned to The Voice as Blake Shelton‘s advisor on Monday – and the chemistry was palpable.

“This is the great Gwen Stefani,” Shelton, 39, said while introducing his girlfriend to Jared Harder and Adam Wakefield, a pair of competitors on the country crooner’s team.

“Blake wanted to bring in an expert to help you guys, so he called me,” Stefani, 46, said, only half serious in her delivery.

“A country music expert,” Shelton quipped.

“I’m getting there, though! I loved working outside of my lane,” she said, possibly alluding to their duet on Shelton’s forthcoming 12th studio album, If I’m Honest.

“Also, she’s hot,” Shelton shared.

The couple previously showed their connection on NBC’s singing competition on March 9, when Shelton called Stefani a “rock and roll goddess, diva, legend.”

Meanwhile, their off-screen adventures continue, as Stefani shared an adorable Snapchat video of Shelton on a hike with her son Apollo, 2, this week.

Her two older sons – Kingston, 9, and Zuma, 7 – also spent time with their superstar mom over the weekend, when Stefani shared photos of their roles in a close friend’s wedding.
