Season 3 of Crikey! It's the Irwins is almost here!

In PEOPLE's exclusive first look at the season trailer, the famous family grapples with closing their Australia Zoo amid the coronavirus pandemic. The latest iteration of the reality series will premiere Sunday, Feb. 7 on discovery+

"2020 has been a hurricane for all of us," 22-year-old Bindi Irwin begins in the clip, while mom Terri Irwin looks at the family's recent hardships in comparison to the tragic death of her husband Steve Irwin in 2006.

"Australia Zoo is still closed," she says. "Since we lost Steve, this would have to be the biggest challenge we've faced."

"We try to remain positive and hopeful like everything's going to be okay, but I just really want us to be open," Bindi adds before the clip shows the zoo's triumphant reopening over the summer after 78 days of being closed.

"We have just officially opened the gates to Australia Zoo!" she announces. "Congratulations!"

In another speech, an emotional Bindi reflects on her father's legacy of wildlife conservation.

"We will continue to carry on in dad's footsteps and make sure that everything he lived and died for continues on," she says.

In addition to Bindi and Terri, Crikey! It's the Irwins features Bindi's younger brother Robert and her husband, Chandler Powell. Powell and Bindi wed in March and are currently expecting their first child together

"It's really nice to end this year with hope on the horizon," Bindi says. "I feel like I'm carrying that hope with me right now."

As a clip plays of Powell holding up an infant-sized zoo uniform, Bindi tearfully says, "We're actually expecting to have a baby."

"Steve would be proud that we survived this," Terri concludes. "Ultimately, it feels like a new beginning."

A sneak peek of the premiere episode of Crikey! It's the Irwins season 3 will air on Animal Planet directly out of Puppy Bowl XVII on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. ET. The season will be available for streaming on discovery+.
