Better Call Jesse? Aaron Paul Has Talked Cameo Ideas with Better Call Saul Producers
"They kind of threw some ideas at me," says Paul
Could Better Call Saul be getting an extra dose of Breaking Bad sometime soon?
Aaron Paul says he’s had conversations with the producers about bringing his Breaking Bad character Jesse Pinkman to the AMC spinoff.
“Maybe this season. Who knows? Maybe,” Paul said on SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio Friday.
He went on to say he and the Saul wouldn’t do it unless it was right for his character.
“They kind of threw some ideas at me. Like, ‘What if? What do you think about this?’ ” said Paul. “So the conversations are definitely there, but it has to make sense for the show. They’re not just going to throw Jesse in the mix just so the fans can say, ‘Oh, look, it’s Jesse walking in the background.’ It needs to make sense to the show.”
Paul, 36, noted that the show takes place before Breaking Bad – which could present a challenge as Jesse would be quite a bit younger than the actor.
“It takes place years before Walt and Jesse ever came into the mix. So how old would Jesse would be. Middle school? High school? I don t know. It would be pretty great to see Jesse in that skin,” said Paul.
The show, which stars Bob Odenkirk as the man who eventually becomes Saul Goodman, has had multiple Bad cameos, but Paul brought no word on when Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and his whitey tighties might make an appearance.
Better Call Saul airs Mondays (10 p.m ET) on AMC.
