Bette Midler‘s latest jab at the KarJenners didn’t sit well with the Twittersphere.

The 70-year-old found herself in hot water on Saturday after posting a tweet about Caitlyn Jenner that critics deemed “transphobic.”

“Now that @IAmCait has been cancelled, will she go back to being Bruce? Will Kris take him back? Do I smell a re-wedding?!” she wrote in the now-deleted tweet.

Social media users soon took notice and made their outrage known.

“I hope @BetteMidler apologizes for her terrible transphobic comments and takes the time to educate herself on trans people’s rights/dignity,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another person tweeted, “@BetteMidler @IAmCait Just shows, you can be as gay-friendly all you want, but to some, transphobia comes so easy. How tired and pathetic.”

The actress soon issued an apology, tagging the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBTQ civil rights advocacy group.

“DEAR FRIENDS @HRC, WHIM I HAVE ALWAYS SUPPORTED. SORRY LAST TWEET OFFENDED. AN IDLE MUSING. I SEEM TO HAVE MISREAD THE TEMPER OF THE TIMES,” Midler tweeted.

It seems the tweet wasn’t enough to ease the Twittersphere, though.

“Transphobia was never a ‘temper of the times,’ ” one tweeter wrote. “It’s always been wrong.”

This isn’t the first time Midler has aimed her tweets at a member of Jenner’s famous family.

In March, she slammed Kim Kardashian West after the reality star posted a NSFW selfie.

Kim Kardashian tweeted a nude selfie today. If Kim wants us to see a part of her we’ve never seen, she’s gonna have to swallow the camera,” she tweeted in reaction to Kardashian West’s nude photo.
