Savenok/Getty Bethenny Frankel brought new meaning to the term “called out” on Wednesday’s The Real Housewives of New York City, when she decided to dial up LuAnn de Lesseps‘ fiancé Tom D’Agostino, Jr. and confront him over his alleged infidelity. As she explained a previous episode, an unnamed source close to Frankel leaked her photos of a man that appeared to be D’Agostino, Jr. making out with a Playboy model at New York’s Regency Hotel – the day before his Palm Beach engagement party. After debating when she was going to tell de Lesseps, Frankel was offered a suggestion from fellow Housewife Sonja Morgan: Call D’Agostino directly. “My first instinct is to go to him,” Morgan said. “You going to him is better, not going to Lu. Maybe he’ll be apologetic and say, ‘You know what, I messed up ….’ ” Frankel’s source had previously said D’Agostino “was so f—– up that he wouldn’t even remember [the cheating]” – sentiments Morgan seemed to echo. “Maybe he got drunk and out of control – let’s see!” she said. “Or he’ll say, ‘Well, I’m just kind of feeling it out, we’ll see ….’ ” Before she could continue, Frankel asked Morgan for D’Agostino’s phone number. “I feel anxious, I feel nervous, my stomach hurts – I’m not really quite sure what I’m doing,” Frankel told viewers, as she called him. “It’s a little bit of an out-of-body experience.” “I might throw up – I literally might throw up,” she explained to Morgan, the line ringing. Eventually, D’Agostino,’s call went to voicemail – and Frankel hung up. “I was going to say ‘I know the girl, and I know LuAnn. How do you want to do?’ ” she later told Ramona Singer at lunch. “And then I thought after, he would have concocted some story. So I’m going to tell her tomorrow. The right thing to do is to tell the friend.” Frankel had a chance to tell her friend directly later in the episode, meeting with de Lesseps. The Housewives first discussed statements Frankel had made about de Lesseps’ previous marriage to Count Alexandre de Lesseps, in which she implied the two always had an open marriage. The label bothered the Countess, who said it made her 16-year-marriage – which produced two children – sound “dirty” and “shameful.” “Do you think I wanted to have an open marriage? No!” de Lesseps revealed to Carole Radziwill. “I had to put up with it, but I didn’t want it. It’s what it was.” For her part, Frankel swiftly apologized. “I’m sorry,” she explained. “I guess I only saw you for the crappy years. Shame on me. I don’t want to tarnish.” But her apology was lost when Frankel began to reveal why she had questioned de Lesseps on her husband-to-be’s monogamy. “Mother of God – I want to tell you something,” Frankel said, shaking. “I have something at the pit of my stomach, and I have something that was dumped into my lap.” I don’t want to be the one to have to tell you this …,” Frankel continued. Don’t do this to me.” Frankel responded, “It’s about Tom. And it’s true and I need you to know that. I am going to show you some pictures. And it was Wednesday night.” That didn’t sit well with de Lesseps, who ran out of Frankel’s room, crying and begging the cameras not to follow her. “Oh f—— hell, Tom. Don’t tell me you’re that stupid. Please don’t tell me you’re that stupid,” she said, before the episode’s end. The Real Housewives of New York City airs Wednesdays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
