"[We just have to] figure out what it is each of us have dreamt of," Bushnell tells PEOPLE
Though “wedding planning hasn’t officially begun,” the Bachelor couple tells PEOPLE this is the perfect time.
“We’ve finally gotten to a place in our lives where it has slowed down a little bit,” says Bushnell, 26.
Higgins and Bushnell got engaged when Higgins’ season of The Bachelor wrapped shooting in November – but they had to keep their engagement a secret until the finale aired in March. In the months since, Bushnell, a former flight attendant, has moved in with Higgins, 28, in Denver, Colorado.
“All of the things that are on our initial ‘to-do’ list post-Bachelor, we’ve accomplished,” says Bushnell. “So, now I think we’re both ready to start wedding planning. That’s top of our list.”
Bushnell says she plans to delve deep into planning “in the next few weeks” – and teases that their new reality show, coming to Freeform this fall, “will document exactly what I’m doing and all of our plans for the future.”
As for when and where the two will tie the knot, Bushnell says they haven’t nailed down any specifics just yet.
“We haven’t really sat down and talked about it. We’ve thrown ideas out there,” she says. “It’s kind of tricky when you grow up and become an adult, everyone is so spread out.”
“We have so many home bases,” she adds. “I’m from Portland, Ben is from Indiana, we live in Denver … We have a lot of options.”
But, at the end of the day, it’s all about coming together and making the best decisions they can as a couple.
“It’s just kind of one those things that we really need to just sit down and look at locations and figure out what it is each of us have dreamt of,” she says.
Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After is set to premiere in October on Freeform.
