'Below Deck' Crew Worries After Captain Lee Suffers an Injury: 'Deep Down I Am Panicking'

Without knowing when — or if — Captain Lee Rosbach will arrive onboard, the crew has "less than 24 hours" before they are set to begin their first charter

The Below Deck crew isn't going anywhere without their captain.

In PEOPLE's exclusive sneak peek at Monday's season 8 premiere, the crew arrives to get the boat ready to set sail on the first charter of the season. The only problem? Captain Lee Rosbach is nowhere to be found.

"Captain Lee is having some issues right now," bosun Eddie Lucas says.

"Lee actually had a fall," the new chief stewardess, Francesca Rubi, tells her staff. "So he's not actually on the boat."

Rosbach was sent to the hospital after suffering a critical injury, though the specific details of the incident are unknown. Without knowing when — or if — he will arrive onboard, the crew has "less than 24 hours" before they are set to begin their first charter.

"I'm trying to stay composed, I'm trying to stay professional in front of the new crew," says Lucas. "Deep down I am panicking a little bit. I don't know the severity of his injuries and we have a charter coming on in less than 24 hours."

"There's a lot up in the air right now," he adds.

Season 8 of Below Deck features both new and familiar faces. Rosbach is joined by Lucas, who last appeared in season 3. And for the first time since season 2, Below Deck has a new chief stewardess after Kate Chastain announced her decision to leave the show in February.

Along with Rubi, other newbies include chef Rachel Hargrove, second stew Elizabeth Frankini, third stew Isabelle "Izzy" Wouters and deckhands James Hough and Shane Coopersmith.

Below Deck premieres Monday at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
