Bachelor Runner-up: I Wanted a 'Happy Ending' for Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff
Becca Tilley also says she's "not planning on going any reality shows to find love"
Becca Tilley wasn’t exactly shocked to hear that Bachelor couple Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff had called off their 6-month engagement, but she didn’t really see it coming either.
“I think coming out of that bubble it’s a struggle no matter the situation,” she told PEOPLE at Saturday’s iHeartRadio Summer Pool Party at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. “I don’t think you can ever expect it because you want it to work out.”
Despite being the runner-up on Season 19 of The Bachelor (Chris chose Bischoff, rather than Tilley,) Tilley remained friends with Bischoff and, like any good friend, she rooted for the couple.
“People are like, ‘Wait, you were her competition.’ When it’s all said and done, she was my friend and he’s such a good guy. I wanted it to be a happy ending, but I think they’re both sort of bummed.”
On Friday, Tilley joked on Twitter about Bachelor Nation fans asking her if she was going to go for Soules now that he’s single.
Y’all are funny,” she tweeted. “‘ Get back together with that guy who didn’t choose you in the first place!’ :|”
Tilley hopes they’re both happy, but knows it’s hard for them right now. She knows about heartbreak, too, having been let go by Soules. But she’s already moved on.
“I’m just hanging out, dating,” she said. “I’m not planning on going on any reality shows anytime soon to find love, but everything is good.”
“No, there’s nothing serious right now,” she said.
