If you’ve ever wondered what Miley Cyrus could possibly have in common with Prince George – aside from a seeming penchant for teddy bears – well now you have your answer.

Both have made the cut for Barbara Walters’s list of the Most Fascinating People of 2013.

In true Walters fashion, this year’s roster is an eclectic mélange of celebs, newsmakers and pop-culture faves.

So, yes: Perennial headline-hoggers (and pumped-up motorcycle enthusiasts) Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who had a baby and got engaged this year, are on the list.

Also nabbing a berth: Oscar winner (and quote machine extraordinaire) Jennifer Lawrence, a healthy and happy Robin Roberts and the cast of the hit A&E series Duck Dynasty.

Rounding out the list are Pope Francis, NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden and long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad. Walters’s No. 1 pick, however, will be revealed when her annual special airs on ABC on Dec. 18

This year’s list marks a bittersweet swan song for Walters: It will be her final Most Fascinating People special before she retires in 2014.
