Of all the criticisms Barack Obama has faced during his two-term presidency, lacking a sense of humor about himself or being unwilling to court the late-night audience have not been among them.

On Thursday night, POTUS 44 visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! and participated in one of the show’s most beloved traditions: Mean Tweets.

As is usually the case with this bit, the Tweets expressed a range of rage.

For example: “Is there any way we could fly Obama to some golf course halfway around the world and just leave him there?” (Thanks to @RWSurferGirl for that one, which Obama, 53, called “a great idea.”)

The insults encompassed everything from blaming the president for the high price of beer to slamming Obama’s choice of denim (a mom-jeans-wearing Kimmel interrupted the reading to take objection to that dig), though Obama got the last laugh when he noted that one Tweeter’s use of “haha LOL” was redundant.

Point, Obama.

Then again, it’s not the worst the president has heard. When Kimmel complimented his good humor, Obama responded, “Those weren’t that mean. You should see what the Senate says about me.”
