"I would consider it!" says Kaitlyn Bristowe's second runner-up
Based on the (mostly female) audience reaction on Ben Higgins at Monday night’s The Bachelorette: Men Tell All special, the baby-faced software salesman should be a shoo-in as the next Bachelor.
“People have been very nice,” Higgins tells PEOPLE. “When they cheer, it helps me take a deep breath, like we’re amongst friends.”
Weighing in on the rumors he’s a potential candidate, Higgins says he wouldn’t rule it out.
“Once the offer came, if it did, I would have to consider the pros and cons. I have a great job, I have a house, life is good. But I really care about Kaitlyn [Bristowe] and because of that, I know this is a great arena to meet somebody. If the offer is on the table, I would weigh my options!”
And good news, ladies: The 26-year-old is still “very single.” Says Higgins, “I haven’t dated at all since the show. You don’t want to deal with that as you’re watching yourself on TV!”
Higgins says he has no hard feelings towards his ex Bristowe, whose final two includes Nick Viall and Shawn Booth, and reveals that he’s on Team Shawn. “Shawn and I were best friends, so I’m biased. We bonded from night one. But Kaitlyn is a great person, and she deserves a guy like him.”
