Spoiler warning:

For those who haven’t seen Tuesday’s The Bachelorette: Men Tell All special, plot details follow.

It wasn’t just Bachelorette viewers who were shocked by Chad Johnson‘s harsh words for JoJo Fletcher on Tuesday night’s Men Tell All special – Fletcher herself was surprised by the verbal attack on her final two suitors Robby Hayes and Jordan Rodgers.

“I almost lost my cool,” Fletcher tells PEOPLE exclusively. “It was disappointing.”

The 25-year-old real estate developer says she had to hold back from reacting to the show’s belligerent bad boy.

“There were so many things that I could have said in that moment, but I think I realized that would have been giving him what he wanted,” says Fletcher. “He loves the attention and I think that’s why he’s continued to act the way he does. So it was in my best interest to not give him the time of day.”

And for now, Fletcher says she’s much more interested in her quest to find The One. “I’m not angry,” she says of Johnson, 28. “I’m not bitter. In fact, I hate saying this, but it sadly is entertaining.”

The Bachelorette‘s finale airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
