"I want the future, I want this future – I want us," Pells tells Fletcher

At this point on The Bachelorette, JoJo Fletcher‘s tears aren’t limited to sadness.

In an exclusive sneak peek at Monday’s episode, when Luke Pell welcomes his leading lady to his hometown, a sunset heart-to-heart ends with the Bachelorette crying.

“I want the future, I want this future – I want us,” the 31-year-old veteran tells Fletcher, 25.

They share a tender kiss and she starts to say something, but her voice catches.

He says with worry, “Is that a happy cry?”

Fletcher assures Pell that, yes, she is happy, but “I just wish I had more time with you, you know? Thinking about having to leave, it makes me sad. Like, we have these random moments that are so powerful and, I don’t know, it’s just overwhelming.”

It’s just one of many tough moments for Fletcher as she reluctantly cuts her suitors in hopes of finding true love. Also on Monday’s episode, front-runner Jordan Rodgers will go into more detail about his estrangement from his older brother, NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and Robby Hayes encounters a potentially “devastating” accusation from an ex.

The Bachelorette airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.
