Nick Viall is turning over a new leaf for his season of The Bachelor.

Viall’s season of the hit show is less than a month away, and the 36-year-old has promised to not get intimate with the contestants until the Fantasy Suites.

“I think I’m going to use that time to, you know, really get to know the women,” he told Entertainment Tonight. Still, Viall said the season is sure to be “wild.”

Viall nearly got engaged to Kaitlyn Bristowe on her season of The Bachelorette and famously revealed on national television that he had slept with Andi Dorfman on hers.

“We’ll still make it steamy. We’re gonna have some fun. I hope it’s gonna be a sexy season,” he continued. “As far as going around all the bases, we might pump the brakes on that a little bit.”

The season marks Viall’s fourth search for love in the franchise (he also appeared on Bachelor in Paradise), and he told ET that the biggest challenge for the women will be keeping up with him.

“I like a good fight … I like some banter. I’m very attracted to a strong, confident woman,” he said. “I like a woman who isn’t afraid to be a leader … someone who can keep up with me, keep me on my toes, challenge me and isn’t afraid to call me out on some of my BS.”

Above all, Viall said, he’s going to remain true to himself during the season.

“I’m going to be myself and not always edit myself. My goal isn’t to be Mr. Popular,” he told ET. “My hope is that over time people will continue to appreciate the person I am and ,I feel like, especially after Paradise, they’ve done a little bit of that. I hope that continues.”

The Bachelor premieres Jan. 2 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
