Chris Soules said he didn't know what was in store for him after he was booted off The Bachelorette
“[Andi] sent me home, the next morning the producer’s like, ‘So, what do you think about being The Bachelor?’ ” the 34-year-old farmer says in an exclusive sneak peek at Saturday’s Oprah: Where Are They Now?
And his initial response wasn’t to jump for joy. “I’m like, ‘No, I just got my heart broken by this girl. I have no interest in dating other people,’ ” he admits. “But as I was able to kind of process the breakup and feel a little bit better about life, I had some time to consider it.”

After a bittersweet exit from season 10 of ABC’s The Bachelorette, Soules went on to become the leading man of The Bachelor‘s 19th season.
Soules recalls returning home after falling for Dorfman, he went straight “back to Iowa, where there’s no women.”
He adds, “I was a little scared coming back here, not knowing what my life would look like again.”
But, looking back, he says becoming The Bachelor was “incredible.”
“I never expected that opportunity,” he said. “I never thought that I was even really worthy of it – to have 30 gorgeous women in the same room who all, I’m assuming, are interested in me was pretty overwhelming and flattering.”
He says, “It’s something I’ll never forget.”
