They went on The Bachelor hoping to find love. And Megan Marx and Tiffany Scanlon ending up finding it — with each other!

The blonde beauties were two of 25 contestants on the Australian version of the hit ABC reality dating show, looking to nab that final rose from model Richie Strahan. But while dating the same man, the two women fell for one another.

Marx, 27, took to Instagram Monday to celebrate Scanlon’s 30th birthday and explain how they fell in love.

“From that first cocktail party, it was like this instant calibration between souls, as if we had known each other once before,” Marx said. “Friendship ripened into something bolder, trust in a very strange situation was formed, and now every adventure we have rivals the other — and continues to make plans for itself.”

Marx praised Scanlon for breaking down her walls.

“To Tiffany, experience wins over the worldly acquisition of ‘things’ every time — and I think this is why she is so open-minded, so accepting of others, so fun and so at ease with letting winds blow her towards a variety of opportunities,” Marx wrote. “She’s helped me to disintegrate many of the ideals I’ve had that were harmful (about relationships, about career and ‘stability’) and for that I feel set free.”

She called Scanlon her “favorite person.” and thanked her “for loving people with such a wholesome love that I don’t know if I would ever be able to emulate.”

Scanlon, meanwhile, took to Instagram to thank Marx for the birthday surprises — which included a “mind blowingly spectacular” trip to the Abrolhos islands.

“Meeting Megan this year felt like destiny,” she said. “The past few months with her in her hometown of Geraldton have been bliss and today’s adventure was the cherry on top. I know we will have many more adventures for many years to come and when she turns 30, I will have to try to top this!”

“Life is a journey,” she added. “It goes by quickly, so fill it with love, laughter and happiness!”

On the show, Marx said “I think when you first meet someone, you know when there’s potential to fall in love with that person.”

She didn’t fall in love with Strahan – avoiding his kisses and volunteering to leave the show.

Scanlon was eliminated in the show’s third week despite winning the coveted First Impression Rose in the premiere episode.

Strahan eventually chose 25-year-old mother of one Alex Nation.

Australia’s new season of The Bachelorette’s two-night finale starting Wednesday. None of star Georgia Love’s suitors have fallen in love with each other yet.
