Austin Mahone‘s father died when the singer was young, but with the help of Tyler Henry, he’s reconnecting with his loved one.

In a new sneak peek at Wednesday’s episode of Hollywood Medium, Mahone arrives at his first sit-down with Henry with a watch that belonged to “someone that had a big part of me living.”

However, the young singer struggles to recognize the person connecting with Henry.

“There’s an energy that comes through, but they acknowledge that they died way too young from their perspective,” the medium shares. “There’s a reference on your dad’s side. I’m seeing vintage cars, funny enough. I’m seeing cars, working under cars. There’s a reference to it, so if someone was known for working on cars.”

A bit confused, Mahone questions who may be connecting. However, Henry is confident in the information he’s relaying.

“I just see dad over here and you over here, so I see you and your dad being separated basically in the way that this comes through,” Henry continues. “This is kind of strange.”

Henry tries to connect the dots by asking how Mahone’s father has been involved in his work, but the 20-year-old says that his father has not been involved with his career at all.

The celebrity then asks where Austin’s dad is living and it’s then that Mahone admits his dad has passed away.

When the medium asks how Mahone’s father died, the singer responds, “He killed himself.”

Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry airs Wednesdays (8 p.m. ET) on E!
