Ariel Winter won’t be able to start college this fall as she had previously planned.

The Modern Family star, who was set to attend UCLA this semester, is pushing back her start date.

“Unfortunately this year, due to production schedule, I have to start next year,” the actress told E! while at the Emmys Casting Nominees Reception. “So I will be starting as a [UCLA] Bruin next year.”

Winter, 18, has been quite the working bee as of late. During her Modern Family off season, she filmed scenes for her new movie Dog Years alongside costar, Burt Reynolds, 80, and has also hinted at various projects via social media.

The actress has previously spoken about not letting her acting career keep her from furthering her education.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to become a lawyer, and social justice just feels like it fits for me,” she told PEOPLE in January. “I want to continue acting and also go to law school. I think the more knowledge you have, can only better your life.”

Season 8 of Modern Family premieres Sept. 21 on ABC.
