The couple exchanged vows in lavish wedding ceremony in Hawaii on Jan. 12, 2019. And while every detail of the nuptials were hand-selected, Burnham took inspiration from a popular teen movie to get the look just right.
Luyendyk, 37, and Burnham, 27, shared their first kiss as a married couple under a custom arch similar to that of Bella and Edward Cullen’s in Twilight: Breaking Dawn — Part 1.
“She sent photos of the Twilight ceremony scene to show the hanging florals and arch,” a source tells PEOPLE.
The wedding came 10 months after getting engaged on The Bachelor‘s After the Final Rose special following the controversial finale, when Luyendyk Jr. proposed to final pick Becca Kufrin. The couple is expecting their first child together, a baby girl.
“It was an amazing day. Arie and Lauren wrote their own vows and both of them got choked up,” a source told PEOPLE of the celebration.
The bride wore a stunning sleeveless, full-skirted gown with lace detailing. The groom kept his look classic in a black suit.
Chris Harrison officiating the nuptials while Burnham’s grandparents served as the flower girl and ring bearer.
“Love is not always perfect,” Luyendyk told PEOPLE in March. “Everyone finds each other in a different way. It’s not always a fairy tale, but as long as Lauren and I have each other, we’re happy.”
