Skylar Laine had her best performance so far – according to Randy Jackson – on American Idol Wednesday when she sang her ’80s selection “Wind Beneath My Wings” and performed a duet with her competitor Colton Dixon.

On Thursday, the pair – along with the rest of season 11’s top 8 contestants – faced another elimination.

But first, there was some business to take care of: Ryan Seacrest checked in with Joshua Ledet, who said he wasn’t feeling well, and Jennifer Lopez‘s sexy new video with boyfriend Casper Smart debuted.

Ryan asked, “Was there any special chemistry on the set of this video with you and any of the dancers?” Jennifer blushed, giggled and dodged the question.

“It’s a good video. I can’t wait for y’all to see it,” she said. “Enjoy it. Enjoy the song. It’s very close to my heart. It has a great message and I hope everybody likes it.”

Then it was time for some results: Called out to the front of the stage with their duet partners, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Colton Dixon, Skylar Laine and Phillip Phillips were all declared safe.

The bottom three were Deandre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone. But Hollie was quickly told she was safe. And then Elise joined her in the top seven.

After Deandre performed for the judges, who could use their one save of the season to keep him in the competition, Ryan asked his biggest advocate on the panel, Jennifer, to share their decision.

As the crowd chanted “save,” Lopez said, “You’re an amazing performer. I stand by that. I think that you have an amazing voice and you’re going to share a lot with the world. I really do believe that. I only get one vote. I’m sorry – we’re not saving you tonight. I’m sorry, baby.”

When Ryan asked if Jennifer voted to save Deandre and Randy and Steven Tyler did not, she said that was indeed the case.

So, Deandre is done.
