American Idol Hopeful Has Room in Tears When Her Mother Surprises Her from Overseas
Sometimes making an American Idol judge cry can be a good thing.
One Idol hopeful proved that in an exclusive clip showing what happened after 15-year-old Tristan from gave a moving performance and Harry Connick Jr. read a letter from one of her family members.
“Just wanted to email you and wish you good luck today with your audition. You’ve always called me your big hero, but today you are my big hero because you are doing something that you’ve dreamed about since you were 10 years old,” the letter read. “Do your best today, and most importantly have fun.”
Tristan’s mom, the author of the letter, surprised her daughter from backstage, and the two broke down in tears. Keith Urban proved he’s a softie, wiping away tears as he watched.
“I’m really happy. I may not seem like it, but I’m really happy,” Tristan says.
Not only that, she got a golden ticket to Hollywood.
American Idol‘s final season premieres Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. ET on Fox.
