Entertainment TV 'American Horror Story' Releases Predictably Terrifying First Teasers for Mysterious Season 6 The hit FX series returns for a season 6 on Sept. 14 By Aurelie Corinthios Updated on October 5, 2016 06:19 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Trending Videos American Horror Story fans, brace yourselves: Season 6 is coming … and with it comes Lady Gaga in all her monstrous glory. After the hit FX series sparked a flurry of social media speculation Wednesday when the first teasers from the super secretive installment were released via VICE on Snapchat Discover, the Golden Globe-winner shared an additional trailer on Thursday. And it’s creepy (and crawly)! The video snippets, which fans are rounding up and sharing on Twitter, feature three set-ups. Up first is a secluded farmhouse with black smoke furling up to form an ominous number 6, accompanied by the shrill sound of what appears to be a chainsaw and a bloodcurdling scream. The second? An ultra-creepy mobile made up of scary tools dangling gently from the ceiling – again forming the number 6 – before a terrifying hand appears from below to grab the knife with a shriek. And last but not least, there’s a girl scrambling down a flight a stairs while hands clutch and grasp at her from the ground. While the teasers don’t give away too much, according to Entertainment Weekly a popular fan theory is that season 6 will follow Michael, the devilish baby that Vivian (Connie Britton) gave birth to and Constance (Jessica Lange) ended up taking – something the scary crib scene might allude to. And back in March, creator Murphy revealed at PaleyFest that they were mulling two different ideas as possible themes for the season. “The interesting thing about this season is we’ve been working on two ideas at once, which we’ve never done,” he said. “The show has always felt to me like an opera. Both things that we’re writing right now, we haven’t yet declared the winner, will have a different form than we’ve ever done, so we’re excited about that.” And whatever the upcoming season may hold, it will tie into the previous ones, including Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, and the most recent Hotel, all of which are interconnected. “The deeper that we go into the series – hopefully we’ll last decades and decades – you will see that there’s a definite universe and all the worlds are collided, sometimes in a very bizarre, interesting way,” Murphy said. “You will be seeing more and more of that as we go along.” American Horror Story season 6 premieres Sept. 14 on FX.
